Your Coach

Beth Wharton, MA, LSS, SHRM-CP

Why do I do it? I struggled a lot in life.  I didn’t know where to go for help on how-to reach goals, change a less-than-optimum mindset, or even start to strategically create a life plan. I struggled a lot, going back and forth, investing a lot of time and money just trying to figure out where I am and where I’m supposed to be. The struggle was real and it was very difficult.  I do what I do because I don’t want women to struggle like I did.

I’m a counselor turned life coach. Since so much of my counseling style included aspects of life coaching, it was a natural transition. I hold a master’s degree in counseling. I worked primarily with women and children who experience deep emotional traumas that manifested itself into coping mechanisms that hindered personal growth. What makes me uniquely qualified is the fact that I have personally experienced many of the same trauma cases I have counseled. I have risen high above my traumas that created blockers and barriers for a successful and joyful life. I know I can help coach you to rise high above yours.

But don’t let me stop there. I discovered in my late teens, early twenties that I love to make women feel beautiful about themselves. Over 25 years ago, I was a beauty consultant for a large company doing home makeup parties. I wasn’t very good as an entrepreneur because I just wanted to transform women’s image and self-perception, and skipped on “closing the sale.” I loved the reaction from the ladies when they saw their appearance (proper clothing style, color scheme, hair and makeup) all come together. It’s as if they never knew that beautiful being was under there all along. This gave them tremendous confidence. Seeing the joy on their faces and beaming with girlish delight, I was hooked! I knew I loved helping women discover their beauty inside and out.

But don’t let me stop there. Because I didn’t have a good “life coach” to help direct my life goals, I went to school and got a bachelor degree in broadcasting, in a small southern city where such a degree would be virtually useless. However, I did learn that being a producer and director on projects was right up my ‘personality trait’ alley. I loved making everyone look and be their best in front of the camera. Again, my passion was coming through.

But don’t let me stop there. Life happened! Circumstances interrupted my life for a long time. Finally, I experienced healing and discovered the direction for my life. When that happened, I knew I had to let other women know how to heal, find direction and reach their goals too. I acquired my master’s degree in counseling and have come full circle living out my heart’s passion – empowering women to reach their full potential and discover their beauty and strength inside and out.

But don’t let me stop there. I am also a certified human resources professional having worked mostly in talent acquisition. I have helped women sharpen their resumes, interviewing skills, and prepare them for the ‘next level.’  I’m also a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. This is a methodology that removes the activities that do not add value to the process. Life…your life…my life is a process. We have all done activities that ended up wasting our time and money and did not add value to our life process. I can help you get lean.

Although I have worn many different hats, there has been one consist thing in all of them – helping people to be their best. This is what I do best. This is my passion. I love helping people, especially women to rise high above their circumstances and reach their highest potential.
